Race and Ethnicity in the U.S., Undergraduate Certificate                        

Requirements include:

1. General Knowledge/Analytical Skills (3 hours):

  • AMS 110: American Identities, or
  • AMS 100: Introduction to American Studies

2. Depth of Knowledge (6 hours), and one elective from the following list (total of 3 courses):

  • AAAS 510. Comparative Racial and Ethnic Relations (Same as AMS 534 and SOC 534)
  • AMS 344. Case Study in American Studies: _____
  • HIST 351 American Indian and White Relations to 1865 (Same as HWC 348 and ISP 348)
